Search Assistant

The Search Assistant page allows you to view information and browse terms in the thesaurus or index for the current field. You can also populate field input box values on the Search page. You can view the following field information:

  • View field information

  • Browse the index (if the field is indexed)

  • Browse the Thesaurus associated with the field (for subject and country)

The current field details are displayed at the top of the Search Assistant page.

Browse the Index

The Search Assistant page allows you to browse, search, and display the current field index (indexed fields only). To display the entire field index, select Index from the View terms list.

To search the field index for a specific term:

To select multiple terms, click the term's check box, and then click the Apply button. Click the Reset button to clear all check boxes.
  1. Select Index from the View terms list.

  2. In the Criterion input box, enter the value you want to find in the field index.

  3. Press ENTER.

Select Terms

You can select terms displayed on the Search Assistant page and populate the field input box on the form from which you accessed the Search Assistant page.

To select terms:

  1. Browse the index to display the term you want to select.

  2. Check the check box next to the term(s).

  3. Optionally, select an operator used to combine multiple terms.

  4. Click the Apply button to transfer the terms to the form.
Note:
If you select terms and then click the previous Previous or next Next icons, the selected terms are automatically transferred to the page.

Search the Thesaurus

The Terms page allows you to search and display the Thesaurus associated with the current field if a Thesaurus has been defined for it. To display the entire Thesaurus, select Thesaurus from the View terms list. To search the Thesaurus for a specific term:

  1. Select Thesaurus from the View terms list.

  2. In the Criterion input box, enter the value you want to find in the thesaurus. Note: wildcard characters are not supported.

  3. Press ENTER.
